Exciting News!

Dunce Cap Games is excited to announce we have hired a freelancer to complete artwork on a new kids’ game project we are working on. This incredible young person has a great eye for art and the vision for the project we are putting together.

15-year-old Rhi Baker, who uses they/them pronouns, started drawing at age 2 and teaching themself to animate at age 7. By age 11, they had their first paid commission.

Rhi has designed T-shirts and pixel avatars and done custom portraits and more. Rhi’s art is regularly featured in a local ‘zine called Tumbleweird. They won first place in a live drawing contest at the anime convention Kuronekocon and have won other art contests as well.

Rhi is gearing up to participate in local art walks and has been invited to show their art in a local gallery. They also plan to sell art prints and merchandise at various regional conventions starting in 2020.

As an advocate for mental health issues for young people, especially LGBTQ+ youth, Rhi is working on a mental health-focused web comic that they hope to eventually publish as a graphic novel.

Rhi’s life dream is to rent out art supplies in a library-like system for those who can’t afford them or just want to try out new mediums. They would like to have a gallery inside to feature local artists, as well.

DCG is looking forward to sharing this project with you in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can become one of Rhi’s 8,000 and growing followers on their YouTube channel, Toony Art, and follow galaxy.cuup on Instagram.
